Show time beckoning for Castle Players
The Castle Players are putting the final touches to preparations for its first production later this month.
The group will host two one-act comedies - ‘You Never Know Your Luck’ and ‘The Doctor and Mrs Macauley’ - in St Patrick’s Church Hall, Castle Street, on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16, starting at 7.30pm on each evening.

Hide Ad“We had a great response to the article in the Ballymena Times just after we had formed the group and we now have around a dozen members,” explained chairperson Lorraine Clarke.
“If these two shows go well, we hope to put on more shows in the future, including possibly a more serious play.
“We would welcome any new members who would want to come join us - from adults who maybe have an interest in theatre to school pupils of Upper Sixth age who are maybe studying drama at school or plan to go on an study it at university. It’s tremendous experience and a marvellous thing for them to put on their CV,” added Lorraine.
Admission for the November shows is £7, which includes a bowl of Irish stew at the interval, with a percentage of the proceeds going to charity. Tickets are available from News Rack, Ballymoney Street; St Patrick’s Church Hall; or pay at the door on the night.
