Hillsborough artist takes part in Stormont exhibition
Contemporary Art in Northern Ireland, an exhibition of the Arts Council’s purchases of art in the last decade, will be on display in The Great Hall until Wednesday January 4.
This is the first time that an exhibition from the Arts Council’s Collection has been displayed in Parliament Buildings, open to the public and to Northern Ireland’s decision makers. It is a 24-piece exhibition encompassing paintings, craft, sculpture, print and photography and includes work from younger up-and-coming Northern Irish artists such as Zoe Murdoch, Carrie McKee and Holly Anderson alongside several artists who have already carved international reputations for themselves such as Cara Murphy and Mark Shields who all show their work regularly in galleries around the world.
Parliament Buildings is open between 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Free public tours of Parliament Buildings are available. For more information go to www.niassembly.gov.uk/visiting.htm.
