Sunday car park charges “aid traffic flow”
In a written response to the local authority and the particular criticisms of Councillor William McCandless at last month,s Council meeting, Divisional Roads Manager, Deidre Mackle said the decision to introduce Sunday charging for the four weeks prior to Christmas was to “help control traffic movements” around the town.
“The two barrier-controlled car parks in Coleraine, The Mall and Abbey Street, are manned on the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. This has been in place for some time,” she explained.

She added: “These arrangements were communicated to the Coleraine Town Partnership Ltd.”
