Wind Day pictures a breath of fresh air!
At a sparkling awards ceremony held at the Raceview Gallery in Raceview Mill, 24 local photographers received prizes from Tamasin Frazer, of Abo Wind NI, a wind farm company working to increase renewable energy in Northern Ireland. These prizes included cash awards of £900, two Nikon SLR cameras, 14 digital cameras and video camcorders as well as ABI wind goody bags.
Mid and East Antrim Arts Development Officer Rosalind Lowry presented the prizes and complimented the photographers on their skills.

Hide AdThe judging panel were three Fellows of the Royal Photographic Society.
Chair of the judging panel, Roy McKeown said: “The quality of the entries in the junior category blew us away. The winner in that category, Rebekah Neilly had shown real creativity in taking a ‘selfie’ with a local wind turbine.”
Roy described the winning entry, by John Miskelly, as a beautiful landscape picture that could grace any wall and proved how attractive wind turbines in the Northern Ireland landscape can be.
Winners were:-Open Category, 1st John Miskelley, 2nd Diane McFarland, 3rd Colin Turtle. Highly commended: Max Muller, Robin Farrell, Harry Cook, Darren Brown, Ryan McAuley, Matthew Alle and Sophie Hamilton.
Junior section:- 1st Rebekah Neilly, 2nd Ella Hill, 3rd Lily Williamson. Highly commended: Katie Ross, Megan Ross, Madison McGall, Hannah Quinn, Ben Rodgers, Lea Williamson and Chris Allen.
