Sisters raise the roof at the Opera House
Broadly following the story of the 80’s Whoopie Goldberg film, the show follows the ups and downs of cabaret act Deloris Van Cartier as she goes on the run after witnessing a murder and hides out in a nearby convent.
Belfast Operatic always produces stunning shows and Sister Act is no different.

For me, Lisburn teacher Laura Kerr stole the show as Mother Superior. Her experience and talent really shone through and at times hre professionalism showed the inexperience of musical theatre newcomer Jean Michelo, who seemed to lose stamina in the second act.
Nuala Mannion was a joy as Sister Mary Robert and had one of the best voices on stage.
The music in the show is not the same as the well loved film and some were weak but others really got your foot tapping and the enthusiasm of the cast cannot be underestimated.
The predominantly female chorus were fantastic and shows the strength of music theatre talent throughout the company.
