My top five bands for 2010
Ciara McMullan
1. And So I watch You From Afar
I saw instrumental band ASIWYFA for the first time nearly two years ago and they have been a firm favourite ever since. This year I’ve seen them play the likes of the Retro and Belfast’s Ulster Hall. No matter how small or large a venue they always give it their all. This is a picture from their headline show at Glasgowbury Music Festival in Draperstown in July.

2. Axis Of
North Coast band Axis of have come a long way in the two-and-a-half years they have been together. Their album, The Echo Conspiracy, is local punk at its finest. Having just released their new single and more releases in April expect a lot more from this band in 2010.This is a picture from their headline gig in Ma'kellys in Ballymoney in August.

4. Team Laser Explosive
An instrumental band, who in less than a year that they have been together have created a massive buzz in the local music scene. A band to watch our for in 2010 if 2009 is anything to go by. This photo is from their most recent gig in the Retro Bar Portrush last month.

5. Panama Kings
Indie band Panama Kings have achieved a lot in 2009, headlining at the Mandela Hall in Belfast and touring with Ash. Their catchy songs and amazing live gigs have earned them a large following all over the UK. Pictured here are the boys headlining at the Retro Bar in Portrush last July.
