Dozens of new houses at Watertop Farm!
On a blustery Saturday morning the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust and the RSPB held a construction workshop at Watertop Open Farm to create dozens of new home for nature. The rain proved no match for our participants who took shelter in Watertop’s brand new Interactive Barn.
Nearly 20 people of all ages got busy building Robin, Blue Tit and Wren bird boxes as well as bug hotels stuffed full of cosy furnishings like twigs, moss and pinecones- perfect for all creepy crawlies!
After a busy morning building everyone got a chance to see the new-born farm animals, a great lunch in the tea room and then a tour on the paddiwagon. Everyone had a great day and took away their newly built homes for birds and bugs.
