Artistic views of Londonderry
The eclectic exhibition will be staged at the Everglades Hotel, Prehen Road from Saturday until Monday 28th March.
Margey’s latest collection will feature stunning contemporary depictions of Ulster’s iconic landmarks, landscapes and musical traditions with a strong focus on the North West and the Maiden City in particular.

Hide AdVibrant representations of The Peace Bridge, Guildhall, City Walls and scenes of the Foyle will be on show.
However, it is an eye-catching tribute to Austins Department store that caught the interest of many on social media at the weekend.
“I am really excited about exhibiting my work in Derry City,” he said.
“I have long admired the city’s buildings and landmarks.
“It has been a pleasure to capture them on canvas, and bring a new perspective to them.

Hide Ad“When I head the sad news about Austins I unveiled my depiction of the department store on facebook.
“I was amazed by the response – clearly demonstrating the affection people have for this icon of retail. I look forward to welcoming local visitors to the show and discussing the new collection.”
Margey has two distinct styles. One he labels as ‘traditional’ – inspired in the main part by the Irish Impressionists. The other he labels loosely as contemporary.
It is characterised by bold colours and strong form which echo the aesthetics of modern living.

Hide AdThis style makes reference to the Naïve School and Fauvism and has been influenced by time spent in South America.
Opening times are as follows: Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th March: 11am – 8pm. Monday 28th March 11am–6pm.
